camera obscura – composer
i’ll be working with my friend TD Collins again, the same composer who did the score for Martial Artsy! i’m really excited i’ll get a chance to work with him again. his work is amazing.

i finished up the shot list and sent it to the dp and a couple other key crew members. here’s a picture of what i actually sent. it includes the floorplan so we know which direction we’re shooting, and what general area will need to be lit.
we settled on our dp – lenny hoffman. he brings many years of experience in the industry, and i’m looking forward to working with him.
i’m all done with my first tv spec! the deadline for the nick writing fellowship is tomorrow, but i finished and mailed it off today. the fellowship announcements will be made in late august / early september, so now i have to forget this project and move on to my next one. i ended up…
has anyone used this program? i’m thinking of getting it. it’s pre-visualization software that seems more useful than hand drawn storyboards because you build the virtual set and determine camera lenses so you get a better sense of how things will actually look on set. it’s $400, but it might be worth it. i’ll try…
i sent off my submission to slamdance yesterday. so far i’ve only submitted to sundance and slamdance. i’m also considering submitting to these festivals which all have submission deadlines before the end of the year : clermont ferrand, sxsw, tribeca, hbo comedy festival. there are other festivals that have later deadlines sometime in 2007 :…
i didn’t hear anything from nickelodeon last week, so unfortunately that means i didn’t make it. i’m disappointed, but i knew going in that it was going to be very competitive, and that was my first attempt at writing a tv spec script. i plan to submit again next year. i’ll write another spec, maybe…
