screenplay finalist!

the short horror script i wrote a couple months ago, “Camera Obscura”, has been selected as one of the finalists in the dc shorts screenplay competition. all of the finalists will have staged readings of their scripts, and based on the scores from the judges and the audience, the winner will be selected. the prize is $1,500 cash plus a $2,000 completion bond once you deliver the finished film.

i have to start thinking of casting actors in the dc area, and i already have some ideas for props. stage acting is not the same as film acting, so i might read some books on the subject so i can direct the actors appropriately.

so now i have both my short film and my short script at dc shorts! september should be an exciting month.
