preparing the script to direct

i like to make a lot of notes on the script, like actor directions, camera angles, overhead diagrams, etc. on a regular script page, everything can get cluttered pretty quickly. to give me more space, i like to print out the script in landscape mode, not portrait, which gives me half the page for notes….

camera obscura – floorplan of the house

i drew this floorplan based on photos and videos that my producer sent me. there are 2 windows on each wall, and a pair of staircases that mirror each other. i’m sure it’s not that accurate, but it’s enough for me to start figuring out the staging of the actors and placement of the camera.

we got a house! marcia found this old victorian house that’s being remodeled. we’re going to use the exterior of the last house, and shoot the interiors in this one. i love the look of the unfinished wood. and it will match nicely with the exterior of the other house.
